UPWARD BASKETBALL AND CHEER

upward basketball and cheer

Our Upward Basketball and cheer League is for all families seeking a league that develops the total athlete mentally, athletically, spiritually, and socially. Our program is tailored to meet athletes where they are in their athletic journey, allowing them to reach their full potential, on and off the court. Your child will grow in character, confidence, faith, and sportsmanship as they participate in Upward.

We strive to to promote and teach good sportsmanship and teamwork by:
  • Providing an evaluation system that promotes equal and competitive teams ( Evaluations September 4th and 5th)
  • Establishing a one-hour practice and game each week with a devotion ( practices will be on Tuesday and Thursday nights)
  • Implementing a substitution system for each team that allows every child equal playing time

2020 Registration and evaluation dates:

  • Registration opens August 9th
  • Evaluation September 4th-5th
    • 1 st game September 26th

VOLUNTEER with our upward basketball and cheer league

head coach and assistant coach

Impact the lives of children by using your gifts and talents to teach the fundamentals of the game as well as sportsmanship, teamwork, integrity, and respect for authority.   Never coached before?  Don't worry; Upward Sports will provide you with all the resources necessary to teach the sport, share life lessons, and coach your team.  Time commitment: 1 hour practice and 1 hour game each week.

Leading Game Day devotions

Impact the lives of the children by sharing a devotion at half-time.  Devotions are centered on one of the biblical virtues that the children are learning in practice.  Devotions are already written out for you or you can choose to share your own devotion.   Time commitment:  10 minutes.

Referee

Do you have a passion for the game and working knowledge of the rules of the game?  If so, use your gift to make an impact in the lives of the children as an Upward referee.  Time commitment: 1 hour a week on Saturday (depending on how many games you referee).

Cheerleading coach

There is a 3 hour per week time commitment. Practice is one night per week and includes devotion time to share with the team. Games are on Saturday mornings.

Let's work together.
